In June 2018, George and Barbara Bush, was released by Down East Books. I had the honor of writing this book with the president and first lady’s granddaughter, Ellie LeBlond Sosa.

Over the course of a year, Ellie and I conducted interviews with her grandmother at Walker’s Point in Kennebunkport, Maine, and at the president’s home in Houston, Texas. We were also given access to hundreds of letters and diary entries at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas.

The book came together as a biography of a 73-year marriage (and a 76-year courtship). With interviews with Mrs. Bush, Ellie’s personal memories, and pieces of letters and diaries, we stitched together a tale about a remarkable couple.
